SAPI

Automatic System for Visually Impaired

Abstract
The SAPI (Automatic System For The Visually Impaired) project includes research, study and test activities regarding the interaction of man and machines to provide useful content and services on-line or from fixed stations (such as multi-media kiosks). The project particularly covers e-business contexts, therefore study themes will also include issues of security and access privacy, including the possibility to use a VPN type infrastructure based on user univocal identification (for example UCI) enriched with information relating to the interaction context. Furthermore, accessibility issues are dealt with to met the needs of users in difficult environmental conditions (for example, with reference to light or environmental noise in the location interaction takes place), as well as the need of users with sight problems or users who exhibit poor computer literacy skills. To ensure access to the broadest number of user categories, the project wants to pursue interaction customisation by investing in study and research activities on issues of service and content adaptability.
